Friends

The sitcom of a decade. Has it aged? Yes. Are some parts a little problematic? Sure. But could it be any funnier? I mean probably, but it's still brilliant, funny as anything, and a great nostalgia trip that just about manages to hold up throughout the ridiculously long run.

Moana

A brilliantly emotional journey through the fascinating mythologies of the Pacific islands, with an exceptional soundtrack to boot. An instant classic and one of Disney's best for many years.

The Gun Seller

A surprisingly high-brow 'parody' of the spy genre that is also a very fun novel in its own right. Highly enjoyable, albeit with a slightly unusual narrative voice.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

A lacklustre adventure that serves as a useful set up for the TV series but little more.

The Mandalorian

A beautifully directed, brilliantly acted Western set in space and one of the best entries to the Star Wars canon since the original trilogy.

Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

A beautifully different entry into the Star Wars franchise which will hopefully see the sequels grow into something unique and much more interesting than might otherwise have been.

Upstart Crow

Surprisingly funny, intelligent and complex whilst remaining incredibly accessible. A triumph of hubris, humour and historical parody.

Inferno

Clearly a script rejected by every other major action franchise with a completely out of place Cambridge academic forced into the titular role. Makes no sense, has no fun, isn't worth any of your time.

Green Lantern: In Brightest Day (Tales from the Green Lantern Corps)

A brilliant introduction to the Green Lantern franchise; a near-perfect anthology of critical moments in the development of the series and lore.

Jupiter's Circle

A surprisingly complex take on the Silver Age of superheroes with a new cast of characters, very much in their heyday yet dealing with some pretty major issues. Think Watchmen meets Justice League, only set in the 50s.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

A worthy successor to one of the finest fighting games ever made, with a surprisingly competent and fun story mode.
