Invincible

Well crafted, with a solid finale, but somehow lacking in the character depth needed to truly capture your attention.

Silo

Utterly riveting, weaving a mystery that manages to consistently deliver without feeling trite or cliche, and backed up by excellent craftsmanship from the whole team.

The Marvels

Whilst Kamala decidedly steals the show – and some of the plot points are not overly explained – this is still a solid team up and a whole lot of fun.

Gubbins

A novel and addictive format combined with a fun, unique art style make for an excellent mobile game.

The Curse of the Black Pearl

The film that launched a thousand pirate ships and yet – much like the titular vessel – can never really be beaten. Still a great piece of entertainment, even after all these years.

Gen V

A clichΓ©d beginning that manages to craft an entertaining – if not entirely original – plot, with some fun characters and interesting implications for the wider narrative.

Mockingjay: Part Two

A decent end to the trilogy that still feels rushed, despite the split run time.

Catching Fire

A solid sequel which skips a little too much of the book, but still delivers a captivating story.

Call Me Kat

An attempt at AmericanΒ MirandaΒ that is well cast but ultimately feels hollow and air-brushed. Mindless TV.

Hunger Games

Both a solid interpretation of the book, and an engaging film in its own right, elevated by a stellar cast.

The Boys

Another solid attempt at a "realistic"/gritty world of superheroes, this time with a strong anti-capitalist and anti-fascist narrative. Despite the shock factor, not as dark as it's made out to be.
