The longer this show goes on, the less overlap it seems to have with my own interests. I'm not sure if that's just because they've burned through a lot of the more "obvious" questions, or whether I've just lost touch with more modern fandoms, but the thing that surprises me the most is that I still enjoy watching it almost as much 😅
That said, the stand-out episode for me was (once again) the one I cared least about: the return of the reality TV crew. It makes sense that they did a repeat, as these three are all very clearly experts in this topic, and have great comedic chemistry, so it's a riot to watch. Actually, that would be the one thing that I would say seemed to decline this season: fewer players seemed really committed to the game aspect. I think they didn't have any repeated guests, and whilst the newer crowd were all good fun, there seemed less and less overlap between them and the topics being raised. For instance, the final episode felt like only a quarter of the answers were actively, specifically answered, and only a few more were guessed at; quite possibly half of the regular questions went by with zero points scored.
Despite that, it's still fun, I love what they've turned Saltzman into (he remains a great addition), and Trapp continues to be an excellent host, which is why I'm sad (but also a little excited) to see what happens next season with a whole new creative team!
